    About Odaiba

In the 1980s, a landfill and Tokyo Bay were used to create the modern shopping and entertainment district known as Odaiba お台場 (north of Tsukiji, accessible by the Yurikamome monorail from Shimbashi Station). Odaiba, a sizable man-made island called Daiba, is located in Tokyo Bay, Japan. Odaiba offers themed shopping malls, a museum, a television broadcast center, various sports facilities, an exhibition center, theme parks, two virtual reality entertainment centers, a vehicles-of-the-future display, a brewery, a waterfront replica of the Statue of Liberty, restaurants, hotels, and what once held the title of the world's tallest Ferris wheel. If you are in Tokyo and haven't been there, it should definitely make your list of places to visit!

Eggs N Things: Hawaiian Restaurant in Odaiba

Got a craving for some Western dishes? If so, then you’re in the right place! Eggs N Things was established in Hawaii in the mid-70s, and so they’ve been around quite a long time! They are famous for their pancakes but also offer a range of breakfast and lunch options. It's a great spot for anyone who is a fan of all-day breakfasts. Is there really any time of day when bacon, eggs, and toast is inappropriate? One really convenient thing is that you can reserve a table in this restaurant so you won’t have to wait in line when this place is generally crowded (and it does get crowded).

Must-try dish: Loco-style pancakes with a tower of whipped cream!

    KING OF THE PIRATES

Ahoy!? Ahoy. Of all the restaurants in Odaiba, there is only one shaped like a pirate ship. If you haven't noticed the trend by now - every restaurant on our list features an incredibly gorgeous view of the ocean and surrounding scenery. King of The Pirates is certainly no exception! If you're looking to spice up your vacation or take that special somewhere other than your standard gourmet fare - this is the one. In addition to being quite affordable for the theme factor, they can also accommodate groups if you're planning a birthday party or get-together.

But what do pirates even eat? My image of pirates never featured much food - just a lot of rum, thanks to a certain *ahem* franchise. Don't let the concept fool you though. Among restaurants in Odaiba, King of The Pirates offers more than a few gorgeous pirate-themed dishes such as the Rotisserie Chicken with 12 herbs and spices or the tender Pirate's BBQ Baby Back Ribs.

    Must-try dish: Pirates' Supper Plate
Location: 〒5F, AQUA CiTY ODAIBA, 1-7-1, Daiba, Minato-ku, Tokyo
Ideal for: Meatlovers, me-hearties, that friend who watches too much One Piece
    Website: https://www.aquacity.jp/shop/index.php?id=5051

Many of the dishes utilize older traditional methods of preparing tofu. One reviewer even said that after trying Tokyo Shiba Tofuya Ukai's tofu, tofu was the same for him!

According to my editor who's been several times, if I don't mention the uni (sea urchin), "I'd be doing our readers a disservice." So, there's that. It's a popular establishment so it can be tough to get a reservation so it's worth booking in advance.

    Venus Fort Mall

The Venus Fort shopping center on the man-made island of Odaiba showcases an extravagant aspect of Japan that promotes grandiose illusions. Venus Fort is an anomaly for fans of the traditional Japanese culture represented by geishas and Ikebana. This shopping center was constructed to look like a tiny Italian village, with little houses housing each store. It seems out of place amid the Japanese countryside. However, it is particularly well-liked by Japanese visitors who come to get a peek at their idealized Europe. And Many Tourists regarded it as "the Most Beautiful Shopping Mall in Japan." It is a shopping center in Odaiba with a theme of the European Renaissance. The mall may be a good place for people to hang out with their family and friends while shopping. Also, Eggs'n Things restaurant is around 18 minutes away from Venus Fort mall.

    Address: 〒135-0064 1-3-15 Aomi, Koto-ku, Tokyo

    Odaiba Seaside Park

Odaiba Marine Park is another name for Odaiba Seaside Park. As previously indicated, the park is only a six-minute walk from the Aqua City shopping center. The Odaiba Seaside Park offers fantastic activities, including fishing, windsurfing, and canoeing, in addition to other water sports.

There are just two vistas in Marine Park that are exclusive to Japan. The Odaiba Statue of Liberty, a duplicate of the one in New York, is located in the park, and the Rainbow Bridge is magnificently illuminated at night. This is an excellent location if you want to shoot pictures in a gorgeous setting.

Address: 〒1-4 Daiba, Minato City, Tokyo

Ultimate Guide to Making Japanese Friends

Japanese Phrases for Eating at Odaiba Restaurants

    Basic Ordering in Odaiba Restaurants

Keep in mind, you can use these phrases at any restaurant in Japan. When you’re ordering in Japanese, there is a very simple format to follow that most Japanese people use. Rather than saying the dish name, they simply point to the menu item and say ‘kore’ (this). When they are ordering several items, they will use ‘kore to…’ (this and…).

Quick note: If you’re using kore to, you should pause and wait for your server to acknowledge that item. They will understand that you plan to order more and will let you know when they’ve written down your item and are ready for you to continue.

Want to experience Japanese culture to the fullest and are you curious about how Japanese tea is made? Read our Ultimate Guide to the Japanese Tea Ceremony in Tokyo!

    Standard Ordering in Odaiba Restaurants

If simply pointing and saying, ‘this’ feels a little too basic, here’s how you’ll say “I’ll have one of [dish name], please.”

    [dish name] wo hitotsu kudasai.

I’ll have one of the [dish name].

Here are a few quick examples:

    Japanese Romaji English
豚骨ラーメンを一つお願いします。 Tonkotsu ramen wo hitotsu onegaishimasu. I’ll have one tonkotsu ramen, please.
牛丼を一つお願いします。 Gyuudon wo hitotsu onegaishimasu.  I’ll have a beef bowl, please.

    Customizing your order

If you have dietary restrictions, you may want to confirm a dish’s ingredients or ask to remove something. In which case, you’ll use:

[dish name] ni [ingredient] ga haitte imasu ka?

Is there [ingredient] in [dish name]?

Here are a few quick examples:

    Japanese Romaji English
このサラダに肉が入っていますか? Kono sarada ni niku ga haitte imasu ka? Is there meat in this salad?
味噌ラーメンにだしが入っていますか? Miso ramen ni dashi ga haitte imasu ka? Is dashi used in the miso ramen?

Typically, you’ll get one of two responses.

‘Hai, haitte imasu' means ‘yes, there is.’

‘Iie, haitte imasen’ means ‘no, there isn’t.

Then, if you find there is something you can’t eat in there, you’ll use:

Nara, [ingredient] nashi de daijoubu desu ka?

In that case, could I have it without [ingredient]

    OR

    [ingredient] nuki de onegaishimasu.

    Without [ingredient], please.

    Japanese Romaji English
なら、肉なしで大丈夫ですか? Nara, niku nashi de daijoubu desu ka? In that case, could I have it without meat?
パクチー抜きでお願いします。 Pakuchi nuki de onegaishimasu. Without cilantro, please.

    Settling the Check

This one is easy. You can either wait for your server to wander by or do what most Japanese people do which is call out ‘sumimasen!’ to get their attention. Then, you’ll just say:

    Okaikei wo kudasai.

    I’d like the check, please.

Odaiba city in Japan, photographed during night. There are lots of pretty lights thruout the city. Odaiba restaurants are nearby.

    Final thoughts

Thank you for reading the list. I hope you like it! My recommendation out of the list mentioned is the Aqua City shopping mall. I think Aqua City shopping mall is a great starting point for anyone who comes to Odaiba. It has many fun activities for those of you who can’t decide on a place to go!
